X-Com: UFO Defence makes IGN's Top 100 in the #12 spot.
This game was released in 1994, and to date it's one of the most addictive and flat out enjoyable games I've ever played. Simply put if you missed this title, you missed a legend; no bull shit.
Here's the blurd from IGN: "The wonderful turn-based strategy game really has it all. Players battle an alien invasion all across the globe by building bases and handling inventory, intercepting and attacking UFOs, managing a staff of researchers and engineers, and sending your squads of soldiers off to engage in one of the most intense, enjoyable turn-based tactical games ever."
Tomorrow they'll be posting their top 10. I'll be interested to see where Halo 2 ends up on the list, as well as Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Come to think of it, I don't think Doom has made the list yet, so I expect it'll be in there. For those unaware, Doom started the FPS craze back in 1993, and it's credited as single handedly saving PC gaming from falling to the Super NES and Genesis.
